Welcome to St. Christopher's
"Seeking God's Truth, Sharing God's Love"
Sunday, November 26
Sunday, November 26 is the last Sunday after Pentecost. Adult Sunday School with Rev. Madeline begins at 9 am. We have a contemplative Lectio-Divina reading of our Gospel for the day. We'll ask the question "What is the word inviting me to consider this week?" and we will share our insights into the text. No preparation necessary, just your willingness to share and listen!
Children's Sunday School begins at 9:30 am, followed by worship services and communion at 10 am. We will meet in the Parish Hall right after services for delicious refreshments, great fellowship and fantastic Equal Exchange Coffee. If you need great coffee, you can buy Equal Exchange in the Parish Hall on Sundays. This is one of several outreach ministries at St. Christopher's.
Reverend Madeline Shelton Hawley is our new rector.
Rev. Madeline was born in Galveston and raised in Oak Hill. She grew up at St. David's Episcopal Church, and received her call to ministry when a teenager.
She worked in Episcopal Campus ministry at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit in New Orleans before attending the Seminary of the Southwest. As a Curate at St. James' Episcopal Church in East Austin, she was the only full time staff member and priest as they underwent a Rector transition.
Rev. Madeline is married to the Rev. Christian Hawley, associate Rector at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. They have one dog, MacGyver, and two cats Minerva and Lafitte. She is passionate about art, especially ceramics, and the outdoors. Her current favorite hobby is taking Mac on long walks to look for minnows in the creek at St. Edwards park. She has also begun to explore the complex world of baking, thanks to the Great British Baking Show.
Meditation Class is not meeting this week.
We usually meet each Wednesday in the Parish Hall at 5 pm. We are meeting again on the Wednesday following Thanksgiving, November 29. On Wednesday, December 6, we will begin our Advent Meditations. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and we look forward to seeing you next week.
We have a wonderful group of mediators and we have a great time together. Our group is led by Mary Christopher who has more than 30 years practicing and teaching meditation. Everyone is Welcome ...

Our Vestry ...
We are so fortunate to have such dedicated and talented members of our Vestry who manage the business and maintenance of St. Christopher's. They do a fantastic job. Many Thanks to our amazing Vestry.
Our Vestry members are John Cotten, Elizabeth Meek, Marnie Robeson, Carol Winship, Colleen Crowson, Jethro Vail and Colleen Horner (not pictured).
Our Beautiful Celtic Cross ...
We are located off Southwest Parkway on Travis Hills Drive which is the street directly behind the Natural Gardener. We are tucked away and the church cannot be seen from the road. But, our beautiful Celtic Cross can be seen from SW Parkway so we are easy to find.
Choir Rehearsal - Wednesday at 7 pm
Choir rehearsal is this Wednesday in the Sanctuary. If you love to sing, consider joining us. We have a joyful time together. No long-term commitment is required. So, join us as we make "a joyful noise to the Lord".
Ann Vail leads our wonderful choir every Sunday. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated musicians.
Our Church -
Our lovely church sits on a small hill looking over the Barton Creek Preserve, giving us a spectacular view of the surrounding area. We continue to enhance the beauty of the grounds with plantings of native Texas wildflowers.
